What is Needed to Participate?
In order for a student to be eligible to participate in any try-out, practice or game, the student must have/present the following information in the Athletic Office prior to participation:
1. Have a minimum cumulative (GPA) Grade Point Average of 2.00.
2. A current, valid and notarized physical on the approved MDCPS form (Form FM3439 Rev. 05-18 is the ONLY acceptable form)
3. A valid/original birth certificate or passport (Age verification)
4. School Athletics Insurance
NO SCHOOL INSURANCE WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE GRADE POINT AVERAGE IS VERIFIED, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION IS COMPLETED ON THE CORRECT FORM AND PROOF OF AGE IS PROVIDED.
District Policy on Attendance:
A student who accumulates ten (10) or more absences, excused and/or unexcused, will not be allowed to participate in interscholastic competitions or performances for the remainder of the school year (Outdoor suspension is considered an absence)
A student who accumulates twenty (20) or more tardies, excused and/or unexcused, will not be allowed to participate in interscholastic competitions or performances for the remainder of the school year.
A student must be reported as present for the school day in order to participate in interscholastic competitions or performances, including practices.
A student who is serving an Outdoor Suspension cannot practice or participate in interscholastic competitions or performances and may be subject to further sanctions or penalties.
